Injury Prevention in American Football

Crash Test Simulations of Players Impacting Each Other

Our research groups studies the effects of collisions on the lower back region and the cervical spine of a football player during the course of a game. Special focus is placed on players with degenerative disc disease. Our computation methods resemble those used in the automotive industry with special adaptations having been made for modeling contact sports.

Currently one student is associated with our group.
